Max Kirby's Bench
The Society wanted to commemorate Max’s life and work with a suitable memorial
in both north and south Wirral as Max worked so tirelessly in both areas.
For south Wirral, we decided on a bench close to Cuckoo Lane, Neston. The bench was recently installed
(click on the map for the exact location) by Geoff Holland who is our Footpaths Officer, South with the help of
Pete Atkinson, Simon Wood and Richard Ankers, CWaCC Countryside Rangers/Rights of Way Officers.
Cllr Louise Gittins, Jane Townsend (WFOSPS Archivist), some friends from the
Save Cuckoo Lane campaign also went along.
As you can see from the photos the bench bears an inscription.
